The key to enjoying the 'Loaf is knowing how to move around the mountain without descending to the base. To do that, use the cross-cuts, which run more horizontally than vertically. Key cross-cut trails are Spillway, running east and west from the Spillway East chair apex; Peavy, which cuts across the mountain's midsection, running east, from Tote Road to Whiffletree; Mid-station, which cuts from Sluice, at the mountain's core, to Ramdown, connecting to King Pine area; and Lombard, which connects the top of Whiffletree with the base of Spillway.
